Social Security is okay but a little help wouldn't hurt either:

Social Security is a ONE-HORSE WAGON; not defunct just needing a boost that's all. Here's the Boost. Link to original NY Times article from January 21 2005.

America loves the underdog.
Social Security struggles along, grinding its heels into the
dirt like it's taking the Game Ball over the goal line, and WE LOVE IT.

On this page: http://www.newpath4.com/marriage.htm I present a way to layer an additional system over top of Social Security which would give us, essentially, a TWO-HORSE SYSTEM. Neither horse has to kill itself to provide retirement & health benefits to ALL Americans. Putting my system in place would make the Social Security's coffers wealthy, a Pot of Gold actually. The beauty of my system is that it doesn't require anyone to dissolve Social Security. Social Security is LEFT ALONE to be the American back-up APC it was meant to be from 1935. Social Security has been a good horse, yet it left many divorced women without. SS had gaping holes of unfairness in it that my system fills, and friends, that means

the HORSE-CART doesn't roll around, over, or past the un-employed American anymore.

2 apples are better than one, sonny.

Social Security System:
Social Security, pension and savings, earnings, and health insurance

Letter to a friend explaining my "Purchase" system further:

These four "pillars"... the weak leg there is Savings. The system I'm proposing is exactly that, a system for savings coming from a sliver of money off of every purchase made by every one of us.

It's not a change to Social Security! It's layered over top of SS. It's an automatic system, doesn't require anyone to bite their fingernails to the bone. No nailbiting, no fortitude required. It just does what it does... strengthening that weak leg.

You said AARP is committed to finding the best answer, and that's what I have. Social Security doesn't have to be altered any way, shape or form. Congress and the President don't have to meet at the OK Corral. When my system begins operation, it's impact is to lighten the ENTIRE LOAD on Social Security's "back".

Which immediately makes Social Security WEALTHY

You said AARP is concerned about the impact on different populations. I couldn't agree more! My system is Fair across-the-board to all. No one is discriminated against or harmed in any way. In fact, my system takes it to a whole new level. Those people who start work in their mid-teens -& start making their own purchases- would start the Savings leg growing long before starting to [real] work.

And if a parent has a teen in college, they send them money right? And the kid spends it too, right? Well, with my system the parent is actually contributing toward their child's future retirement.

In Blacksburg, Virginia at Virginia Tech, they put together about 100 desktop computers (Mac G5's). They interconnected them with their own software they designed, and they ended up having the world's 3rd fastest computer system. Once they got the "bugs" ironed out, they sold all the computers and started replacing them with much faster ones! For a paltry sum of $5 million dollars or thereabouts, they're building a conglomerate computer that's much cheaper, and faster, than the supercomputer built by the Japanese 3 years ago.

Except, Japan spent over $100 million on their system! What I'm saying, Marta, is that the United States now has more than enough computing power to easily keep up with these slivers of money from each purchase.

Finally, I too share your statement of purpose: "committed to improving overall retirement security, which includes pensions, savings, employment opportunities for older workers and healthcare coverage". My system when I first came up with it one year ago this month was not just for retirement. NO. My intention was to make sure that every housewife making purchases with her breadwinner's money would be building a NEST EGG for herself. Not just for retirement! For the health care, for the prescription drugs, & for their children. (vice versa for a househusband)

So Marta, what do you think?? Kick it around please. Because what my system really does is sets up TWO forms of "social security": one, the main system (mine), and two, the ever-present Social Security. And my Mom always said 2 is better than 1.

I know I'm just an average guy. I'm on disability. No one wants to admit it, but in this one case I HAVE NAILED IT. Nailed it down tight. Why? Because my system is a true Capitalist System, not something bordering on Socialism.

Kick it around some more, Marta.
Kick it so hard you try to make it flat.
It can't be done. There aren't any bad side
effects to my System. It's all gravy.

It's just no one wants to admit it, that's all. But I'll tell you something. My website gets hit every day by people who have hidden their identity. In my webstats for my site they show up identified only as "Unknown". They hide their web browser and OS (operating system) from my stats as well. Government and military leaders, senators both here and in Europe, are looking at my system.

They know I've nailed it too.

Be seeing you!

Social Security wobbles like a top
because it is a sloppy Law & needs to be completed
NOT REFORMED

NOT: a "call for a national sales tax" & should not be confused with that.
A National Sales tax would tax everything sold. This page

- /01socialsecuritybinarystarsolution2horsessocialsecurityfixandsave.htm (and 1-year ago = http://www.newpath4.com/marriage.htm) calls for a tiny sliver of shavings from each Purchase by the Consumer (all of us, housewives, children) to go into separate personal holding accounts, accruing in value. It is National but it IS NOT a national sales tax as promoted on radio!

Why?! Because MY SYSTEM LEAVES SOCIAL SECURITY INTACT, that's why. There's nothing wrong with Social Security. It is wrong because it isn't a "true Capitalist" solution, and that's what is Wrong about it. Yet, it does work. It is a fine Back Up (APC-like) system. Social Security should not be the primary solution. It was at first, in 1935, because that was the best we could do.

Now it needs to have a companion horse to pull the load, a 2nd horse to share the burden; a Capitalist horse! My projected system allows each person to work as hard as they want to, knowing that the more and smarter a worker works = the faster & better they can retire. My system gives each person a CALL TO EXCEL and make the life they want.

It isn't that I'm against President Bush's Plan either. I wrote my page a YEAR AGO... and I did NOT write it to challenge a President. It's just what I think will work better -and tremendously more equitably- than anything tabled thus far.

President Bush's Plan,
however, does call for a whopping
$2 Trillion dollar initial outlay. Mine does not.
