Abortion is wrong because it is an ending at the beginning, the ending of life of a very small and undeveloped but brand new human life that now has a God-given right to life that should override what anyone of us grown people happens to think. Including the new expectant Mom. I've felt that way for a long time. BUT. I also believe an adult has rights too. The right to work out their own Destiny, the right to determine what's right for them, and the right to come to a decision PRIVATELY between them, their DOCTOR, and God. *Without anyone else's two cents (Jerry Falwell). The doctor and a pregnant woman form their own universe that very few if anyone has a right to intrude. So when I woke up, it occurred to me that there should be some kind of compromise between the two ideals. After thinking it over a minute, I decided to square off with you all and come completely out of the closet, as so far I've written about all kinds of stuff but I decided abortion wasn't something I wanted to tackle. SO. HERE'S THE COMPROMISE and you all are welcome to kick it all over the ballfield. The first child a woman has should never be aborted. A woman who has never had a child is not in a position to fully fathom the ending of a fetus and what doing such an act represents. It's in the realm of fantasyland to many a young woman. Not only that, after pregnancy has begun a flood of hormones begins, which I believe has chemical distortion effect on the first-time Mom's brain... not to mention that a first time Mother is still dealing with many a childhood-level issue. All of these things adds up to a first time pregnancy should never be allowed to abort. This compromise satisfies all these issues. After the first full-term completed pregnancy, a young woman knows the ground, and quite literally completes her journey from childhood into adulthood. She is now a full-fledged adult in every sense... and GOVERNMENT, RELIGIOUS LEADERS, AND EVERY OTHER TOM, DICK, AND HARRY AFTER THAT FIRST CHILD SHOULD BUTT THE HECK OUT OF THE FULL ADULT WOMAN'S LIFE AFTER THAT. I know this may seem like splitting hairs but I don't think so. I think there is a fundamental difference between a woman before, and after, that first pregnancy. Consequently, the writing of such a dual Law takes those differences into account. The woman before her first child should be assisted with EVERY POSSIBLE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, again by Law so ordered, fully funded by all of us out of respect for her unique situation, and helped in every conceivable medical way. That satisfies our claims to being a moral nation, moral country, moral America. After that first child and the woman is now a full adult, the Law rightfully bows out. This, I think, actually honors the mental states of all concerned and the rights of each individual involved, including the first time child. It injects a level of humanity into Roe v. Wade that Republicans found so objectionable in the first place because it is entirely too much of a broad brush Law. And it establishes full adult Law to the full adult woman, which is what I think most of you are seeking to do...

Thanks. But you see, that's what I was trying to address! Of course any religious person is going to oppose a young girl with a 1st time pregnancy being able to take that pill. And like it or not, our government makes us get prescriptions for lots of stuff that 90% of us routinely need, and know we need, without a doctor. I think the reason they have to impose all these "broad brush" laws is they haven't taken the time to hunker down & write better law. My post was my attempt to come closer to some kind of more accurate bullseye. When we try to write abortion law to cover "all women", it's a slap in the face lumping ALL WOMEN under the one rule... neither the young woman or the older woman is being served correctly, and the end result of this legally clumsy law has been societal chaos. That chaos has shown itself as abortion clinic bombings and a few doctors have been shot & killed, a side product of a broadbrush law. The Scott Peterson verdict is a perfect example of what I wrote. Peterson was convicted partly because of the juror's HORROR at the untimely death of the first time child. Had it been a later child the outcome might have been different because less personal horror felt by the jurors. I just think a line that already exists in the general public's deep psyche should be recognized by existing law. Your suggestion ultimately is that a completely formed child tho tiny should be okay to just waste it with hot chemicals. Age and size isn't germane. If it was, dwarf tossing would be okay. Throwing children under a moving train would be okay. Superior age and size doesn't give anyone a license to kill. Except in Europe where their governments buckle to bloodthirst to solve problems. Unwanted pregnancies are our reality and so far the law has not been forthcoming. Any new law should affirm that all life is Holy and deserving of protection. There can be no middle ground because it just fosters more chaos and anger. We simply must say unequivocally that we are going to protect the newborn life because we are not animals that sometimes eat their young. We have to affirm that we humans are above that. And really, we should do that whether we are religious answering God's Law, or not. Any of us who believe humanity is above animal life with or without God, we must take this stand. NO Killing. Period. Otherwise, what do we reap from our law that allows legal killing? We know. 18 years down the pike we get a President who feels no religious objections to starting a war in some godforsaken place... because well, we're just animals. Not just Bush either. Anyway, it's like dominoes. If we allow killing of the newborn because of size, we open Pandora's box that makes going to war much easier. We may THINK we're winning by allowing RU-486 and such drugs but in the long run? We all lose the long run. Friend, if you want to help us all, how about fighting to get some of these new drugs passed to Public domain faster like these new drugs that builds muscle on the body without exercise? I've struggled my entire life with arthritic pain beyond imagination that was a direct result of my body fighting building new muscle, and now that we have it I can't get it. It's being tried on people who have "diagnosed" diseases, and I probably won't get it til the day before I get planted. If you want a fight that would help so many of us now living from these idiots who withhold stuff from us like they're GOD, please choose a good fight where you aren't out on a shaky theological limb. Choose your fights! Several years ago. maybe less, it was discovered that some lab researchers had discovered that manmade high density lipoproteins dissolved plagues inside all body blood vessels! They put it on a shelf after it was successful on monkeys. This med was purposely WITHHELD FROM US, even tho it's a cure for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, FOR 10 YEARS. We need to find out what th hell is going on with our scientists, why they have this pervasive antagonistic attitude -and power- towards the majority of us that they can keep these life enhanccing medicines from us with impunity. I would hope that the Steve Reeves Foundation would tackle this issue. My ankle was crushed in '89. My toes and foot were mashed forward & upwards to touch my shinbone. I haven't been able to barely WALK because of the muscles in my feet did not repair. Doing my own research, I finally uncovered THE TRUTH, that after a major surgery patients are supposed to be given steroid treatment to help the body rebuild muscle into the affected area. No such was done for me. Why? Well, I have to speculate but it comes down to me being a Worker's Comp patient and they dis-respected me, my family who needed me, my wife. Now my older kids don't hardly talk to me because a succession of doctors thought I was faking inability to WALK, deciding I was typical human slime who didn't want to return to work. I finally located a product called Muscle Jack that promoted the regrowth and now I walk fine but for a little bursitis in the ankle. I suggest you embrace these issues and quit calling for newborns to be legally burned with chemicals.

Our doctors and scientists look at us like we're human trash to be ABUSED AT THEIR WILL. And when we scream to the top of our lungs for the killing of the fetus, it just verifies to them that that is what we are. They find justification by what they perceive we want. If we call for death and misery, they are there to make sure we get just that...

My doctors told my family -BEHIND MY BACK- that I was suicidal and a Faker. I take every opportunity I can make to blast them as close to the heat they put me in as I can.
