There are several main tricks to the WIND ENGINE. It uses any one of a possible number of different "blade" shapes but the theory (the METHOD) and concept remain the same. A crossmember Lever keeps each side tied to its sister in total synchronization. The Generator (center in blue) has gears on each side that slip so that both Arms are continuously switching stroke directions, pulling the Generator in the same direction. The Wind Engine rotates according to wind direction, always facing the wind like a wind vane. This device isn't the same as a "run of the mill" windmill. The vertical fan support arms ALSO ARE LEVERS. They pivot on the ball bearings under the unit base upon ball bearings and pull the generator with a lot of Power even when the wind slows. It is my belief that the Wind Engine can generate more power from less wind than a windmill. Windmills are fine above a 5+/- mph wind but most places lack the necessary and regular windspeeds necessary to justify the expense of a MILLION DOLLAR WINDMILL like the one they built in Texas. The projected costs for Wind Engines is a lot less than that unless several sets of blades shared a common horizontal generator shaft. That would cost more, but not much. Also, Safety's would be built-in so that in a high wind the Arms would fold over or something, preventing any damage to the Unit. Ironic isn't it?, that the long-standing catapult of death and destruction could also be a design for ecologically favorable energy production !
As of December 2007 I have developed many more engines, anti-gravity, solar... and a very new different type of spinning windmill that may even rival the Wind Engine. Most of them are not yet released but read this page for some additional updates on my progress toward getting all my engines to the Energy starving world of today.
My Dad. I loved him so much. Not because he was any real super special human being tho of couse his kindness was well known. No, I just loved him because he was my Dad. He had a deep booming voice, not unlike the black actor I mentioned. I came late in his life. I only have a few pictures of him being trim and powerful looking. Gee he looked powerful. But during the time our lives overlapped he was heavy. But I saw that he was powerful in other ways. Once he sat and talked about George Washington's false wooden teeth and personal habits at length and people at our family reunion crowded around to listen to him talk. He only went to the 5th grade. Had to bring in crops with his brothers or they might not eat the following winter. But stationed in Alaska he took courses at a university. Juneau I think. He soaked History like a sponge. People admired him for that. But one night at home he drew me a caricature of an elephant. I watched his pencil move, purposely slowly as to impress me ever the more. He drew several more other figures. All perfectly. My eyes must have got so wide because it was so fantastic that he could do that. God only knows what children of movie stars must feel...
I've been debating how to present my UFO designs to you. And my "Wind Engine" that is a reciprocating harvester of wind. Will I use PhotoShop, 3dStudioMax, or maybe Maya, LightWave, or SuperCad? Well, there's a problem with that because I'm a creature of the WORD, not the DRAWING. So I'm going to sit here today if it takes me all day. I assure you that my joints will demand I take more than a few breaks. But I'm going to draw you, not a caricature, but the real thing. A workable picture of a real buildable UFO. And I'm going to explain the theory that will make it work. In the meantime and just so you don't think I'm doing a whole lot of talking without really showing you ANYTHING, my FRIENDS, above is a drawing of my Wind Engine that no one seems to want. You will notice that it is more or less a reciprocating catapult that catches
the wind, turns sideways, and then is pulled back by the opposing arm for another gulp. On following pages I will start doing the explanation of the UFO, while I leave YOU to ponder why the Dept. of Energy seems to hate me and my inventions. Because that's one answer I just haven't been able to solve yet. Traveling to the Earth's Core would be much easier.
I don't know everthing. I'm not quite senile yet. But I don't want you guys to miss out on getting in on a good thing either.}
The Wind Engine has many uses from variations employed on this link and can be adapted to work suspended high in the air. A portable unit could be driven to remote locations, even many of them, and begin producing megawatts of electricity immediately just as soon as the sub-station could be built to handle their outputs. The Wind Engine could even work in an upside-down inverted position.
Notice the center wind vane, that the unit is sitting upon a ball-bearing platform. When wind changes direction the Wind Engine responds to that right away, immediately.
The Top View shows how the inside of the blade arms has a geared semi-circle gear that is in constant contact with the generator's end gears, which would likely be a slip gear only grabbing for the forward direction.
The dual-direction generator would work well for this application => see this webpage for an animated gif representation of the dual direction generator. Both the rotor and the generator housing spinning simultaneously. Or the previous method from 2000 explained in the following pgh before we made the dual direction generator in 2005 would also work fine, with the generator gears only pushed when the blade arms goes forward for more wind.

You should however be aware that the Wind Engine is now vastly obsolete in 2007 since I have designed several solar engines that output significant orders of magnitude what can be achieved from thin wind.
