William left us very quickly. One of the common "traps" to fall in after someone dies is the Blame Game. I do not intend to do that, yet, we really do need to try & understand what in the World happened. Can we too suddenly drop ill with leukemia and be gone in 2 week's time? Was it something William did wrong? If so, we need to know so we do not do it and lose other sons also.

The only way to answer these haunting & upsetting questions is to FACE FACTS, but how do we face them unless someone, like myself, writes a page like this? First thing I have to say is that William is not the first young man to die this way. I knew a boy when I worked in Richmond, VA {1980} who was 30 years of age. Before I left and moved back to Roanoke, he had died of leukemia.

He was much stronger than William altho some shorter, an extremely powerful man and handsome, again like our William. And yes, his superfast passing away was an awful shock. He worked at a major roller skating ring. All he did all night long was skate and help people up who had fallen. Needless to say, his legs were much stouter & bigger muscled than William's.

What th' heck is going on with young & physically healthy strong males that they get leukemia ??? Sure, we are all imperfect, but it is more than that.

Environmental pollution is part of it. Both boys born in Richmond? Maybe. Richmond pollution could have seeded them both long ago. I've discovered that some parts of the body become "bloodstream filters" that augment the kidneys. With gout, the hands and legs allow the gout-acid sharp crystals to settle out of the blood.

Women's breast tissue has many blood vessels, so the female breast acts as a carcinogen filter, giving women breast cancer. Two boys, big legs, gravity pulling the environmental pollutants -heavy metals, mercury, lead, airborne heavy pollution molecules- all going into those big strong legs, pulled down there by Gravity where they would invade & fill in his blood marrow.

William's legs were acting as carcinogen filters.
So his death wasn't anyone's fault.
Or was it?

There were several issues that added to that filtering process. What were any sources of pollution in William's Life?

Working at {unnamed} *plus* living next door to their {unnamed} factory exposed William 24/7 to some very vile airborne carcinogens after he moved back to Roanoke where he & L began married life. William and his young family lived next to a train track (half-burnt hydrocarbons' diesel exhaust the level of a transatlantic jet when it passed William's front door) plus a corrugated box factory (airborne superfine asbestos-sized paper fibres). So no matter which way William turned he was taking a bath in some of the most vile pollutants known to Man, all day, all night, when retiring & upon waking. Now a really good man, a great Christian husband, friend brother & son is dead of diseases worthy of West Virginia coal miners. William Riley wasn't a coal miner.

Yes, really. And quite sadly. You see, that area where they lived was a flatland spot, a tree- & terrain-shielded pollution trap with winds too low to effectively move the pollution. William and L and T. may as well been living in the Starkey Road Love Canal. William's "Love Canal" near {unnamed} & {unnamed} Roanoke box corporation was airborne, microscopic, wall-penetrating molecular-sized crude oil-derived plastic pollutions plus death-causing corrugated fibres (employees wear masks; neighbors do not). The Marathon Oil gasoline depot was {and still is} 1/2 mile away from William's front door for the time he & his family members L & T. lived there. Were there any spills? Would Marathon Oil employees tell anyone or destroy evidence to save money? We will never know.

The 3 or more years they lived there set the Stage.

All those years of breathing, sleeping, even swallowing airborne carcinogenic substances in his Food & Water was NOT a good thing but a man does what a man can do. The pollutions being dumped on this young Riley Family must have been AWESOME. The fact that William lived to be 28 years of age is a MIRACLE ... we should & do praise God we had him this long time, 28 years.

Was there anything else? Yes there is more.

William began having "mental issues", symptoms from the chemicals, symptoms he had not had as a child. We thought they were small issues but the professionals he saw should have dug deeper. Did they? His body & big smart brain were being poisoned two ways; lowered oxygen levels (displacement by concentrated pollution from his beautiful brain's blood supply carrying in the pollutants). Apparently he went to doctors. What action did his doctors take to help my son? Let's see. Did they do a mineral analysis of his hair? Did they do blood tests for ANY of these carcinogens? Did they look at his fair complected white caucasian skin that was growing more pale as time wore on, check for anything? How about checking his blood for heavy metal sickness or the presence of mercury, lead? What did William's doctors do for William Henry Riley? Nothing? Is that what they did, Nothing? No.

That is why William is gone today.

No General could have survived all that for long.

When William entered the Roanoke Rehab Center I visited him. He told me some his meds once carried a warning that... might
cause leukemia.

William's Wife L. and daughter T. lived the same places William lived. Leukemia for them next year? Five years? 10 to 15 years? Makes you wonder if there's a target painted on his family now... and the gray overcast is cast. What a future lies ahead for an 8YO little girl about to enter the 3rd Grade without her Daddy.

William died June 15; today -June 20 2006- was his 29th birthday.
