The gravity in high mountains is not appreciably less than the gravity at sea level. Whatever the reason Russian villagers live a long time is, it most assuredly isn't because of weaker gravity.

Evolution is not "any ol' substitute theory"; it's the closest hypothesis that we have that fits the scientific facts humans have discovered up until now. If you can propose a better hypothesis that still fits the freely-observable facts, by all means do so.

Evolutionists believe that something new and wonderful can spring from lesser parentage because, well, they've seen it happen. Arguing from the other angle - that it can't happen doesn't make any sense - is unproductive because it does happen. It happens whether it makes sense or not. You admitted it yourself when you mentioned those virii that good Christians stay away from - those virii, in your own words, "have adapted and specialized". More effective things have sprung up from lesser parentage.

Yes they have. I have no problem admitting that. But I would also qualify the statement. Just because it works at a much lower form or level of simple life doesn't necessarily hold true all the way up the ladder. It is an okay theory the evolution is, but there is no law in effect that says if it happens HERE it happens EVERYWHERE, not to mention at every Time. About the gravity, you're correct that it isn't the gravity exactly. It's what the changes do, what effects. Have you not noticed the general weakness in the population? A lot of that is because our lungs don't have to work hard at lower altitudes. It causes the muscles of our ribcages to slack off. Not just the outer layer of muscles, the inner layers, the deep muscles that need to remain powerful. At a higher altitude these muscles have to work harder to get the needed air and oxygen. There is also another factor at work that I have mentioned previously. The heavier molecules of lead, mercury, etc. crap that drops in our atmosphere, squeezing the lighter molecules of oxygen higher up. That's why our cities have become death breeders. We all btw share a common tendency to want to elevate ourselves above our parents. When is the last time you saw a carpenter building a home with a regular ol' handsaw? You think we're smarter now that we have power saws, don't get the exercise, and die of emphysema because we have weakened lungs? We're not evolving, we're devolving! That's why we value the Arnolds so much, because the rest of us are become the dregs. Those are the observable facts I see. Mankind has been going down for at least the last 100 years. Tell you what, when I went to school one or 2 kids wore glasses. How many do you see wearing them now? If you still want to insist we're evolving you're going to have to sweep a lot of evidence under a rug.

Another thing. "Evolution fits scientific facts" needs to be qualified to "all scientific facts that ignore about every scientific statement made in the Bible". Current evolutionary theory ignores statements made in the Bible such as the Earth was round ("circle of the Earth": Isaiah 40:22), made long before Christopher Columbus. You're right, it isn't just "any ol' substitute theory"; it's a very specialized theory devised specifically to exclude any & all Biblical statements. Those are facts. And based on the obvious purpose for which it was written i.e. to discredit belief in God, I don't feel a need to offer another hypothesis. Somewhere back within the last 1,000 posts I did offer that the reason the dinosaurs were so big may have been caused by lesser gravity at that stage of Earth-mass; also that at one time the Earth had a seasonal climate over its entire surface. That was made possible by a suspended thick layer of water vapor high above & around the Earth that caused the climate not to have extremes. That is proved by the frozen remains of mastodons found in the Arctic. The theory of Evolution ignores that fact, yet the Bible explains it fully ("above the expanse": Gen. 1:7). So yes as a matter of fact I do find something wrong with a theory that gets generated with an already-believed hypothesis and that's all the Theory of Evolution has ever been for me. As believable as Von Daniken & as trustworthy as a marked deck of cards. Any belief system that I choose to give my support has to firstly not be afraid to confront other beliefs. The Evolution theory is not such a system.

Another Thing II. Have you ever dropped a cube of ice on the ground and seen it just start sliding. Sure, it will if it hits something and bounces, or if you're standing on the side of a slope of some kind. Included into the Evolution Theory is this idea that snow would somehow slide on flat ground. I haven't exactly bought into that yet either. If mountains were made of flattened layers of sediment that was sliced off at the north and south ends it might make some sense that the ice ages went up and down carving them. But the layers of sediment go up and down as if the mountains had first been flat ground that was pressed, squeezed, or squashed upward. That just would not have been the case had ice carved out the mountains. Now you take the story of Noah and the worldwide Flood. It takes 11 inches of snow to equal 1 inch of water. Many millions of gallons was suspended from the Creation Time above the expanse as vapor. When that fell as rain the weight was extreme and would have pressed, squeezed and squashed like no flat ice would have done. The Ice Ages would have taken a long period of time to do damage that only took water 40 days to crumple the ground into ocean basins. The strong land that was left we now call continents.

Another Thing III. According to the laws of attraction properties of Matter, all matter attracts all matter. All that water suspended above the expanse then would have exerted an attraction at the Earth. Prehistoric life including the plants would have been pulled upward. However AFTER the Flood all that Mass being DOWN HERE would have increased the gravity pulling all life down, with a corresponding reduction in size. Possibly also that the water being conductive may have increased the Earth's magnetic gravity. That is not speculation. Not according to the Bible. The story of the Bible has much to recommend it. It explains why Pterodactyls actually could fly because the Gravity was Less. It explains why all the dinosaurs disappeared and why a few dinosaurs have been seen, not the least of which is the whale and the killer sharks. The only living dinosaurs are the ones that could swim. Doesn't that sort of suggest Bible Truth is the real Truth? Too many pieces fit the Bible story like a glove. All evolutionists would like us to think that way, that something new and wonderful can spring from lesser parentage. I tend to think that is evil because it conflicts with what the Bible said several thousand years ago, and what I see today several thousands of years later. "Like" comes from "like". In a few instances where like mates with something unlike, usually the offspring is less than either one of the parents and not some miraculous soup ladle offspring you wish it would become just to satisfy some inner craving to deny God. There are exceptions to what you stated, and there are exceptions to my answer also. The answer lies more in the "faith" arena than it does in scientific observation. Those who don't want a God ruling them tend to choose any ol' substitute theory they can dig up. Yet it is true that many of our diseases spreading today are from virii and bacteria that have adapted and specialized into mass killing machines of a microscopic order. People who adhere to Bible principles and stay away from evil tend to stay away from many of those little monsters. Actually gravity is evil in a way. It causes us to age prematurely. Were we to live several miles higher we would tend to live a lot longer, just as the Russian villagers who live high in the mountains. We would be healthier like Arnold had we grown up breathing high mountain air. Those of us who see these facts will learn. Those of us who insist on living in a toxic dump we call today "cities" are destined to live much shorter lives. And sicker. And we watch our children die from diseases that just 100 YEARS ago were only seen in the aged and dying. We've had the theory of evolution all this time, and they haven't learned much. Why would I follow a band of people like that??

Evolution has no restraints to keep it from becoming evilution. The beauty of evolution devolves into an excuse for evil, no, a reason to allow evil. Some people like MMK, possessing a high IQ and a detailed spirit, might be able to control the evolution as reins control a team of powerful horses. But the World isn't made up of people who adhere to such a high level. The World is made up of average people who, during stress, will drop back and use whatever means they can justify (rationalize) is okay for the given moment, given situation. So it is unique that in just the past years experts have identified this phenomenon in the general public, naming it "situational ethics". Evolution is highly flexible instead of being rigid like some religious faith. That flexibility makes it very attractive to the majority of people who want more control in their largely uncontrolled lives. So Satan is winning, for now. People are grasping to get away from God's air and breathe Satan's air of flexible life. Self-determination quickly morphs into gluttony. Evidence of this is abundant in most every culture in the world. Gluttony of food, gluttony of sex, gluttony of I wanna, I wanna, I wanna EVERYTHING. Magazines with pages full of strip naked women is gluttony. Wanting freedom from one's Maker is gluttony. Pure unadulterated gluttony. Evolution is the product of a world full of people who value gluttony as their highest freedom. You can't get much more evil than that. As usual, the freedom of gluttony that Satan beckons us to succumb to has its usual price tag of sickness and death. A gluttonous generation got AIDS, did it not? A gluttonous generation got us about 50 million abortions worldwide. And does anyone even think about the thousands of unborn inside their AIDS Mommas who have died. NO. Wny? Because no one wants to be thorough. A complete thorough life goes out in search of God and finds Him, His son, and a whole universal family of God that beckons us to join them, not Satan.

I have found several urls of interest concerning Evolution. http://www.evolutionfairytale.com/articles_debates/mutation_rate.htm is just one. It seems a number of learned people feel that mathematical probablity is weighted against the theory. Some readers on here questioned my anger, saying the schools ARE NOT TEACHING Evolution as Fact. Many times teachers feel the students just don't hear them and that is understandable. I run into the same wall with my own children. Children absorb more than we think. Pictures make an impression in their Mind that stamps, burns, and they do remember. They pick up on their Mom & Dad's feelings for each other. And for some reason Evolution being taught by TEACHERS comes across to them as a gigantic fact. Whether the teachers intend it this way or that just doesn't matter. Teachers teaching Evolution in a "state school", teachers using state-supported facilities and books, teachers come across to children as AWESOME. Teachers aren't just people; they're what they represent! They have the full weight of the U.S. gov't not to mention Walt Disney Productions and all the animated shows showing Evolution in all its myriad imaginations that simply can't be completely verified. Teachers aren't just teachers; by their position they stand on high pedestals alongside Billy Graham. Teachers are -for so many hours a day- "parent stand-ins" and the students confer the awe that should be toward their parents over to teachers. Parents shouldn't be handing the parent baton over to teachers so easily, so readily, any more than Germany's parents should have given the children to the Third Reich. No, I'm not equating our school system with Hitler's Germany. I'm just saying the psychological end-result to our children is much the same for both systems. America's children don't belong to America. They belong to the parents first. It isn't that teachers need to be dethroned. As I see it's the parents need to get back their territory.
