Approval was granted for in-situ leaching uranium tests at the Phoenix deposit in Canada

Denison Mining Corporation of Canada has received approval from the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment to design, build and operate the facilities required to conduct feasibility field tests at the Phoenix deposit, the first in-situ leached uranium (ISR) deposit in the Athabasca Basin region. In 2021, Denison installed a commercial scale in-situ leaching uranium test facility at the site.

The Phoenix deposit was discovered in 2008 and is one of two high-grade deposits owned by Denison at the site. The deposit has an estimated ore reserve of 141,000 tons and uranium grade of 19.1%, or 59.7 million pounds of uranium trioxide.
